Services.

Shannon Aero is best in class because we know aircraft inside-out, nose to tail, wing tip to wing tip, on the ramp, in the shop, and 12,000 meters in the sky!

Shannon Aero’s team has owned, operated, managed and traded aircraft. We came to realize that climate concerns about the aviation industry needs a comprehensive response that addresses the risks airlines, airports, aerospace banks, lessors and investment institutions, and seizes the opportunities created by countercyclical market conditions. We will help you create, develop and execute a climate change strategy that turns sustainability into a business advantage measured by a blend of increased revenues, lower costs and higher profits.

Fleet Options
Modification Options
Risk
Do nothing
Modify to freighters, Exec
Emissions problem unresolved. Ground fleet. Creates a market glut, opens market to airline startups. Costly +/- $15M per A/C. Aircraft stagmatized in the investment institution sector. OEMs withdraw, Distuptive new design startups, loss of pax confidence. Loss of CSG support
Fleet Stagmatized Stranded assets Brown Assets Brown bank financing
Wasted assets fill airports. Entrepreneurs offer engine retrofit kits to significantly reduce emissions.
OEM(s) exit the market. Engine Supplier(s) exit the market. Airlines exit the market or downsize MRO reconfigure aircraft for non-commercial use.
Modify the gas turbine engine powerplant. CFM56, CF6, Trent, PW100, CF34
Upgrade as life cycle limiter is reached over 10-20 years.
Operating costs rise dramatically due to mixed & ageing fleet. Market opposition, airlines cannot fund.
Buy sustainable fleets
Replace powerplant & airframes. Only one geared propulsion system in commercial service today - on the drawing board.
SAF (from Biomass/biofuel, electric/battery, green hydrogen, hybrid). Upscaling production issues. SAF Price vs. fossil fuel price. May not meet a range of deadlines. High replacement technology risk. Safety concerns from the travelling public & regulators.
Negative emissions trade off
Mitigate CO2e liability with negative emissions tecnologies
Bury CO2e in the Earth. Opposed by CSGs & investment institutions. Ground storage is a political & Leakage risk.
Phase out current production Copyright. All rights reserved. For use refer souce as Shannon Aero, Shannon Airline Services International Inc. (SASI).
Type certificate new CO2e emissions compliant aircraft
Development cost $30Bn(large aircraft) per new type/model. Engines? Key OEMs, suppliers, MROs may withdraw. New financing to be developed with Green Bank taking the financial risk.

Climate change management.

Decision making always involves uncertainty and uncertainty creates opportunities in the air transportation industry. Managing the GHG crisis risks faced by airlines, airports and MROs, can be made to work in ways that create businesses that overcomes the risks. Global economic recovery, regeneration, growth and inflation may be impacted by a broad range of risks. The recurring sense of risk uncertainty, in contrast to expected outcomes, impacts the environmental decisions we make. Risks, rewards and opportunities coexist with economic growth and inflation in complex way. Answers are needed for many uncertaintities:1. Will the prices of goods and services rise to a point where inflation reaches above 10% or if prices fall will deflation occur.2. Will supply chain materials scarcities coupled with central bank monetary policies that create credit, be the cause of stagflation?3. The balance between these economic scenarios is delicate and an economy can quickly swing from one condition to the other. 4. Global recession or will the post-pandemic recovery continue in 2022, with global GDP expanding by 4%-plus? 5. If domestic and international financial conditions deteriorate, will it delay hoped for recovery in emerging markets?6. Will major country and economies fail such as Turkey, Iran or the Ukraine?7. If monetary policy is tightened will it weaken stockmarkets? 8. Will loss of liquidity lead to a credit crisis for airlines and manufacturers.9. Would any economic rebound vary the pace of recovery across different countries such as the EU, USA and China?10. Will worsening US/EU-Taiwan-China relations, and cyberwar tensions force a measurable decoupling in the global economy? 11. Can a property value crash lead to an economic slowdown in China, or the USA? 12. Will the health risks posed by new Covid-19 variants change work patterns and cause social unrest?13. Will an ageing population lead to a loss of skilled worked and limit the availability of unskilled workers? 14. As populations in developed economies age, will this weaken the global supply chain?15. Will the travelling public change travel patterns in protest at the environmental damage brought about by the contribution of aircraft to rising global temperatures? 16. Will civil society groups force policy makers to take legislative action forcing airlines to switch to Net-Zero aircraft, backed up by regulations with firm, early deadlines?17. Will terrorist action like 9/11 impact global economic recovery?18. Will technological change accelerate as the industrial revolution of things permeates every aspect of the economy? An increasing sense of uncertainty can result from changes in the global environment that we are failing to control. By creating and implementing green plans to meet Paris Agreement targets for 2050 and the Corsia scheme targets for 2030, reduces environmental uncertainty, addresses customer resentment, and increases business opportunities. Quantifying the uncertainty using practical methods/services can control change risk and increase decision making effectiveness.

Campaigns include media campaigns, public speaking, commissioning and publishing research. Lobbying by civil society groups requires directed advocy that engages influencers, philanthropists, NGOs, voluntary organizations to lobby legislators on a specific issue or specific piece of legislation. Social media is employed as an advocacy tool enable civic engagement and collective action. Stakeholders in the aerospace sector seek out our experience and expertise to help them participate effectively in planning, regulatory, and litigated cases, and other forums for public involvement and corporate decision making.Change making. We target our services at public utility commissions including public and private airport facilities in U.S. states and Canada, offices of consumer advocates, attorneys general, environmental organizations, foundations, governmental associations, public interest groups, and federal clients such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Justice.
Carbon audits lead to lower business costs.
Companies have much to gain by declaring to the public that they have an audited program in place designed to lower carbon/GHG production. Every step an airline or airport takes to remove CO2e from its operation, means lower costs, less labour, less infrastructure needs & more time to focus on priorities to make the airline or airport safer, & more profitable.
Sales & marketing action plans.
The aircraft trading market is clouded by a lack of credible information as to where trading prices are today. Owner price expectatioons are high. They are holding on to distressed assets, that fell 40% in mid-2020, in the belief of an upswing once Covid was controlled in 2021. It did not happen. The negative outlook has put owners in an uncertain position. Hold on, in expectation of higher prices or, sell now before prices fall further.
