Life stories and histories of our team are available at the bottom of this page.
The story so far: Our ambition is to contribute to solving the world's biggest polution problems.
Shannon Aero's team has operated airlines, bought & sold aircraft and components worldwide.
We have built our management team with specialists in the knowledge that a low-carbon economy is not a sure thing.
The Shannon Aero team is a diverse group of aviation and business professionals who are fully committed to the reducing the CO2e emissions produced by the aviation industry and to implementing programs that decarbonize aircraft in ways that advance the UNFCCC and ICAO CORSIA scheme goals of reaching net-zero aircraft greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Our skills as aircraft traders, cash flow managers, pilots and engineers qualify us to provide assistance to aviation businesses. There are ~440,0000 serviceable aircraft in the world today. All aircraft operated into every airport, is powered by gas turbine engines or internal combustion engines. Everyone of them is polluting the air we breathe. We discovered that no sustainable, renewable technology exists to solve air polution they create. Having traded more than $2.5Bn of aircraft over forty years, we realized it will be almost impossible for most air transportation businesses to raise financing for aircraft fleets that do not pollute the environment. We decided to find new ways to fight the problem. Key to survival will be access to green banking sources capable of providing financial backing to aircraft owner and operators. Our work today, centers on businesses that want to start the transition to ICAO CORSIA compliances & eventually meet aircraft Net Zero emission standards. We will implement programs that improves Balance Sheets, P&Ls, generates revenues from carbon offsets, & positioning customers for green bank financing. Passengers do not want to fly in aircraft adding to climate change problems. Airlines want to buy certified aircraft and parts producing less pollution. We have recently purchased a fleet of aircraft, and used some revenue to research ways to cut pollution and noise from aircraft operations and maintenance. We developed methods to decarbonize all aircraft parts, which helps clients qualify for Green Banks funding , ensuring they stay in business and earn profits. Leadership through innovation. We offer programs that provides the traveling public with the information they need to maker an informed decision about flying, who to fly with, and what to fly on. We built the program around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Int'l Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)CORSIA scheme targets. We alligned our management culture to the UN and ICAO process, pooling and sharing a broad range of business, technical and management expertise in the aviation industry to a worldwide audience. We now apply our resources to bring about change in ways that aviation contributes to achieving the SDG goals. Learning & advocacy. We provide aviation specific knowledge and expertise to the broader stakeholder community in aviation specifically, and Civil Society Groups more broadly. Environment, Social Responsibility and Governance. We undertake projects focused on the circular economy use, reuse, repair, remake, rebuild airline equipment and airport infrastructure.Renewability & sustainability. We adopt best practices to develop technologies for renewable energy and sustainable aviation fuels. Applied research. We undertake R&D using aircraft platforms to develop methods for reducing the carbon content of airline and airport equipment & infrastructure.
Shannon Aero's capabilities.
Shannon Aero provide products and services designed to meet future air transport UNFCCC / ICAO conventions, standards and recommented practices as they are publised. 1. We assist all stakeholders make the case for decarbonizing & removing GHG emissions from aviation assets, whilst maintaining normal operations, safety, securtity and profitability.
3. For stakeholders.Expert guidance for lowering aircraft carbon-intense production. We assist stakeolders to decarbonize in ways that exceed CORSIA scheme standards and meet civil society group (CSGs) expectations with respect to removal of GHG polution. Lower aircraft carbon-intense production will address public concerns and ultimately lower unit costs, boost traffic recovery, improved profitability, and enable a safer planet. Tools & Benchmarks.Asset-backed securities (ABS) Asset class valuation. finance pools of familiar alternative asset class types, such as aircraft leases, auto loans, credit card receivables, mortgages, and business loans. These contractual obligations to pay often rank senior to a borrower’s traditional debt obligations, reducing ABS investors’ exposure to the borrower’s financial health, in this case the aircraft lessors. ABS also has many other investor-friendly features that may help protect against loss and improve liquidity, such as tranching of risk, overcollateralization, and diversity of payers in each underlying pool. Despite these and other strengths discussed in this report, some ABS and other forms of structured credit continue to offer higher yields than similarly rated corporate or municipal bonds. The principal job of ABS investors is to analyze the cash flows from these obligations to assess value and the possibility of loss, rather thanAircraft investment decisions cross asset classes and require multiple approaches to analyzing and comparing them to other alternative assets. An example would be to compare the value of airline equity yield can be usedabecause the ratio measures returns on an investment's equity portion. It is the ratio of earnings to the equity invested. Another way to look at the decision is to think in terms of “certainty” and “uncertainty” with respect to price. Except for a default by the US government, US Treasuries are perceived as having a high level of price certainty because they offer a fixed income stream, without risk of capital loss, if held to maturity. In contrast, equities suffer from price uncertainty. They do not provide fixed cash flows and future prices are unknown. Investment grade credits fall between treasuries and equities because they have a income stream coupled with default risk.
How we do it.1. Lower environmental costs. Our capabilities will guide you on how to go from A to B, and the tools to use. We have a package of tools and benchmarks that address stakeholder concerns. Each one enables operators to lower environmental costs, upskill labour, right size infrastructure & gives more time to focus on priorities like safety & profitability.2. Travel switching prevention - Marketing to influencers. One key purpose is to dissuade Millenials from switching travel preferences to other travel modes. Many Millenial influencers advocate against air travel on the grounds that it is air poluting and takes natural resources away from green industries. 3. Conferring - Strategic questioning. We exchange viewpoints and seek advice for the purpose of finding solution to problems with net-zero aircraft and CORSIA scheme progress. We see conferring as more than a “chat” with peers. It is a conversation that hopes to leave parties with something positive. Some of our clients are informal and others think of conferring as a formal conversation. Conferring tends to be planned ahead of time by a member of Shannon Aero's leadership team. As the process advances the course of conversation is focused on observations combined with strategic questions.4. Consulting - Planning & implementation. Our aviation consultants assist aircraft owners by providing services, from flight operations, engineering, design to crew certifications. These services are valuable to companies navigating civil aviation regulations such as those enforced by EASA & FAA. 5. Strategizing - CO2e emissions management. We assist stakeolders to decarbonize in ways that meet civil society group (CSGs) expectations with respect to removal of GHG polution. Lower carbon-intense production will address public concerns and ultimately lower unit costs, boost traffic recovery, improved profitability, and enable a safer planet.
Net Zero future research expertise
Shannon Aero is looking to develop relationships with Materials Labs with the ability to investigate chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical properties of the safety critical aircraft materials including super alloys and earth metals with respect to material, hardness, and strength. Patrick Harris - +1 561-702 7849.
Allign with UN policy goals and objectives.Policy goals. The goal of UNFCCC is to prevent dangerous human interference in the climate system. The Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement are sets of international rules designed to implement the UNFCCC goal. One hundred and ninety five countries signed the treaty but little agreement has ever been achieved on how to legislate for it. Objectives. The three main objectives set by the UNFCC and ICAO for 2022 are:1. Innovation 2. Safety & security, and 3. The environment.

Shannon Aero's team is passionate about our greening & decarbonization initiative.
Shannon Aero's trading unit, Mercury Aircraft Trading, quest is to help save the planet one aircraft at a time through the process of decarbonization. Our circular economy efforts focus on the use, reuse, repair, remake and rebuild of certified aircraft, aircraft parts and structures, that form part of the ATA 100 classification system. By implementing our decarbonization strategy in a circular economy, global marketplace, we make a significant contribution to reducing air transport greenhouse emissions in ways that our customers can (a) monetize carbon credits, and (b) reuse materials to stop them ending up in a landfill. Selection includes engines, avionics, landing gears, fuselage, wings, empennage and more. The aircraft classification system is based on ATA 100, a standard relied upon across the aviation industry. Some of the key subsystems and components, that contribute to decarbonization techniques and methods are:1. Aircraft Subsystems for Conventional Fixed-Wing Aircraft. The key physical components and subsystems, central to the decarbonization process include: Fuselage – it provides working volume for passengers, cargo, and aircraft subsystems that are internal to the aircraft.Wings – generate lift and crucial for flight.Horizontal tail - provides longitudinal stability and control capability.Vertical tail - provides directional stability and control capability.Propulsion system - engines are crucial flight subsystems. They generate the thrust force that acts on the aircraft. 2. Aerodynamic Control Surfaces.Elevator or movable flap (and canards) - changes the air flow over the horizontal tail in such a way that a pitch moment on the aircraft is generated.Aileron - operate in differential mode so that if one flap is deflected up the other flap is deflected down by the same amount (roll).Rudder – is movable flap, changes the air flow over the vertical tail in such a way that a yaw moment on the aircraft is generated. 3. Aircraft Propulsion Systems - the aircraft engines, together with associated fuel tanks and related hardware. The propulsion system generates a thrust force that propels the aircraft in flight. Internal combustion engine.Propeller - blades generate a thrust force.Turbojet / turboprop.Compressor – mechanical device increases pressure on inflow of air by reducing its volume.Combustor – accelerates the flow of air through the engine.Turbine – a fast-moving flow of hot air through a rotor fitted with vanes. APU (Auxiliary Power United) – engine provides energy for functions other than propulsion. 4. Avionics.Air Data and Flight Instrumentation.Altimeter - provides a pressure measurement to indicates the flight altitude above sea level, Airspeed indicator - provides a measurement that is used to estimate speed.Engine gauges - provide information about the engine speed and temperature.Tachometer - measures speed of rotation of the propeller, the turbine speed in a jet engine. Artificial horizon - based on gyroscopic instruments. Measures roll & pitch angles & Earth-fixed reference.
